Water Project Initiatives

Securing Safe Drinking Water for Vulnerable Communities

Clean Water • Community Health • Rural Dignity

Delivering clean water initiatives for better community health and rural sanitation. These FSC water projects ensure water security, expand rural water access to potable water, and champion women's empowerment.

The Foundation of Public Health

Access to safe drinking water is one of the most basic yet critical determinants of public health. Recognizing this need early in its journey, the Foundation for Social Care (FSC) initiated localized water access interventions in underserved rural areas.

These essential interventions lay the groundwork for preventing disease and elevating the daily lives of marginalized populations.

Clean Water for Communities

Water security is community security

Phase I – Tubewell & Handpump Project

(1998)

In 1998, FSC implemented a focused Tubewell & Handpump Installation Project, directly benefiting 40 rural beneficiaries.

Project Objectives:

  • Reduce dependency on unsafe water sources
  • Prevent water-borne diseases
  • Improve daily access to potable water
  • Support women and children who traditionally bore the burden of water collection

This early initiative reflected FSC’s understanding that community welfare begins with basic infrastructure security.

Phase II – Drinking Water Infrastructure Expansion

(2020)

In 2020, FSC strengthened its water access mission by installing 9 Drinking Water Units across 9 Villages Benefited.

Significance:

Implemented during heightened public health sensitivity. Hygiene, sanitation, and clean water access were critical priorities.

Key Outcomes:

  • Household-level water access improved
  • Enhanced sanitation practices
  • Reduced health risks
  • Strengthened village-level resilience

Impact Beyond Infrastructure

FSC’s water initiatives contributed significantly to:

Community health protection
Women’s dignity and time-saving
Rural sanitation awareness
Disease prevention at the grassroots

From a 40-beneficiary installation in 1998 to multi-village coverage in 2020, FSC’s commitment to water security demonstrates a long-term understanding that sustainable development begins with essential services.

"Clean water is not charity — it is dignity. And dignity builds healthy communities."
